01

Official fact: weapon and class role

NC's official Guidebook presents Gladiator as a Greatsword melee damage role with relatively high attack and defense, and says it can contribute as a sub-tank.

The official global teaser currently lists Gladiator, while NC's 2025 core-content release describes powerful wide-area melee attacks. Those statements establish a role profile, not a current damage rank.

02

Editorial interpretation: a practice-ready combat loop

An editorial practice loop is: identify a safe approach, maintain sustainable melee position, read when to absorb or avoid pressure, and disengage when the front line becomes unfavorable.

Sub-tanking is part of the official profile, not proof that Gladiator replaces a main tank in every party. Current content rules, party composition, and live skill text still control the actual responsibility.

03

Editorial interpretation: PvE, PvP, and RvR contexts

These practice contexts are editorial deductions from the official role profile, not NC playstyle rankings or win-rate claims.

  • PvE:Prioritize stable melee uptime and mechanic handling instead of remaining in danger to extend damage.
  • PvP:Identify a safe target, approach path, and exit before committing to continued pressure.
  • RvR:Move with the friendly front line and avoid crossing it alone without support.
04

Editorial difficulty assessment—not power or tier

KINA rubric v1 rates onboarding at 2/5 and mastery at 4/5. One means a lower learning burden; five means more simultaneous execution, information, or responsibility.

The class objective is readable, which lowers onboarding burden. Melee position, contact time, and attack-defense switching raise mastery demand.

The assessment uses no damage table, win rate, gear threshold, or unpublished skill value.

The scores do not compare damage, win rate, class value, gear investment, or party demand and cannot establish a best, worst, or tier.

05

Beginner practice order

Practise safe melee uptime and hazard recognition before deciding when to press forward or disengage.

  1. 01

    Build a safe baseline

Practise approaching and leaving a target without accepting unnecessary danger.

  2. 02

Add one burden at a time

Add front-line reading: check allies, hazard area, and exit before each forward move.

  3. 03

    Recheck the current build

Build a short personal loop from the live regional skill text and record build and test context.

06

Common mistakes and corrections

These are editorial practice reminders and do not assume any unverified skill, cooldown, or coefficient.

  • Treating defensive identity as permission to ignore mechanics; use durability as recovery, not immunity.
  • Chasing beyond allies and the exit route; check the front line before every approach.
  • Turning sub-tank wording into a fixed party rule; verify the current activity and assigned responsibility.

This page does not confirm Global launch skills, damage, cooldowns, stat priorities, or best equipment.

The dataset covers nine classes verified on 2026-07-18: the eight base classes on the Global roster and Brawler, added to the Korea/Taiwan Chapter 1 build on 2026-07-01. Global skills, roster, balance, and final play patterns still require client and notice verification.
