AION2 pet progression: Genus Insight, levels, and server-wide character sharing
The key distinction after the pet update is not a material name, but which value uses a maximum and which values are added together. This page stays within NC's published server-sharing rules and does not invent a drop table or fastest route.

Three confirmed server-wide rules
NC's January 7, 2026 announcement says Genus Insight and pet ownership, previously handled per character, changed to sharing among characters on the same server. It does not extend that scope to another server or account.
Genus Insight uses the highest value reached by a character on that server. Pet levels are aggregated across all characters on the server. Maximum and sum are separate rules and should not be interchanged when planning alternate characters.
Verify scope and current values before investing
Confirm that the characters are on the same server, then record Genus Insight, owned pets, and pet levels separately. If the result differs from expectation, check server, build, and interface wording before assuming every pet field uses one calculation.
The official probability site includes a Pet Genus Insight category, but its tables can change with the live build. Use the current official table and in-game display when evaluating outcomes for a level or genus.

- Do not turn server-wide pet ownership into a cross-server or cross-account claim.
The sources do not provide one optimal pet route
The announcement does not publish a complete material-source table, fixed cost for every level, ideal character allocation, or permanent pet priority list. A universal 'level this pet first' answer cannot be derived from the sharing rule alone.
Version, current pet roster, and the live official probability page are the minimum context for a reproducible recommendation. Without them, the accurate status is unverified.
