FACTION CHOICE
Elyos or Asmodians in AION2: separate starts, servers, and RvR
Choosing Elyos or Asmodians changes the starting setting and faction context. The official core-content reveal does not label either side stronger, more populated, or better for a class. This guide separates confirmed world structure from unannounced operational data.

Checked against NC's May 30, 2025 core-content announcement; no unofficial population table, faction ranking, or original-game stat is used.

The faction structure confirmed by NC
NC places AION2 200 years after the original game. Players choose Elyos or Asmodians and begin in entirely separate regions for their faction. As the narrative advances, the experience develops into large-scale RvR centered on the two factions.
The same reveal lists separate Elyos and Asmodian servers as a design intended to improve faction balance. That establishes a service-structure direction, not named global servers, a measured faction ratio, or a character-transfer policy.
The announcement is not a power or population ranking
The source provides no live population, win rate, class modifier, economy price, or latency data for the factions. It cannot support claims that the more populated side is mandatory, that one faction deals more damage, or that either has a permanent advantage.
Maps, faction expectations, and service rules from the original AION are not evidence for the current AION2 build. The global release also has its own operating regions, so named servers and character-creation policy remain unknown until NC publishes them.
Choose with conditions you can verify
Start with the region and story atmosphere you want to experience, then coordinate the same service scope with regular teammates. If RvR is the objective, read the current official server, matching, and restriction notice before character creation.
- World preference: choose the faction starting region you want to explore long term.
- Social requirement: align region, server, and faction with friends first.
- Service rule: use dated official notices for creation and matching policy.
- Unknown data: do not replace official population or balance data with a community screenshot.
